Internet connection

Having a good internet connection in your garden office, garden studio or garden lodge, is essential for both work and leisure. For connecting your room to the web, there are a range of solutions. In the majority of cases our customers find that a wi-fi signal extender is suitable for connecting their internet. This is a low cost option.

An upgrade to a wi-fi signal is a Cat 5 cable terminated to RJ45 sockets on each end. We can run the wire and terminate this to sockets on the wall of your house and garden studio, but you will need arrange for IT support locally if you need help connecting this to your router or PC. We believe this is the best way of connecting your garden room to the internet. If you will require this please mention this to your surveyor during your no obligation, site survey.

We have had mixed results from home plugs, due to the diversity of electrical and internet connection configurations in homes in the UK. With lots of home plugs struggling to pass a signal through the rcd breaker we install in all our garden rooms. We have some customers who have found this is an efficient and low cost way to get a very fast internet connection, and others for whom this solution did not work at all.

The fastest and most expensive internet connection for your garden room would come via a leased fibre optic line. Unfortunately we would be unable to assist with this and you would need to talk to your service provider to arrange this.
